Invision Power Board

I'm want to transfer my IPB data to a new hosting service (cough, cough this one), but I'm
having trouble with the database or something. I tried editing the conf_global.php file but it
doesn't seem to be helping. I have a feeling that the problem is either in that file or the
actual mySQL database because everything else seems to be in order I'm not entirely sure, but I
think that the problem may be these lines: $INFO = 'chronic_ivpd1'; $INFO =
'localhost'; $INFO = 'NfUnzIC3hY'; Where can I find the password? It seems like a ...

yes i know, there are alot of topics comparing them but everyone has thier own opinion and i want to
give mine as well as hear a few. First of both vBB and IPB are very powerful forums, infact both
the board have won awards for most powerful forum software available, now vbulletin (IMO) is a more
proffesional forum, as it requires you edit the config.php.new file to set it up and does not have a
script where you enter your information like IPB does, vBB is also more proffesional because it has
some features (pro features) that arnt included in IPB (ie: you can customize...

I used Invision Power Board for the first time today. Its pretty complex and has more options than a
sausage on sticks! Which do you guys prefer and why? I use PHPBB on one of my sites. its fast,
free and does everything I need... or does it? ---------------------------------------------- The
boards are written in PHP - so ideally this post should be in the Scripting forum. Am moving it

Okay, I've got a new IPB, and everything's fine, except I want to know how to create a
character minimum for each post to be accepted. Could anyone show me how? I'd like it different
for each forum. Any help would be appreciated....

Invision Gallery Settings have been changed today to prevent unwanted spam comments that have been
reported recently. Now guests cannot view your album/image unless they are registered members of
AstaHost.com. This, at least, will serve the purpose of finding where and who are spamming in our
forum. Please report any spam comments left in any given gallery image. Use the REPORT button. If

Recently, I've been having -ve credits (Boo!) and I get the usual message on the home page

I'm the cheap sort of folk and I don't have an extra $300 laying around for a stupid license
to IPB so I got a free one from Invision Free. They have this section in the amin panel about using
your own domain and having it point to 67.15.4.42. They say it can be done with subdomains, so I
created a subdomain, "forums.mysite.cjb.net" but I don't see anything in cPanel regarding giving
a subdomain an IP address. I know it is possible, but I'm not sure how. Thanks for any

While working on some code for the phpBB2 I got to messing around with the idea and then looked at

I have been working with phpBB for quite some time but I had members of my PHP-Nuke that wanted to
have PHP-Nuke with the IPB as a forum instead of the phpBB2 that was ported to PHP-Nuke. well I have
a IPB-Nuke that runs presently PHP-Nuke 7.4 with Invision forums. I was asked somewhere on this
site about porting a Spell checker over to Invision. Well I have done that and it is available on my
IPB-nuke ste and you may both test it out and also download it to test it out go to the test forum

My old webhost also had cpanel (I think it was an older version), but it had Invision Board, and
