See Through Clothing! - Omg Finally!!

Wow, wow wow, check this out if you are just like me you always dreamt with some see through sunglasses so you could see the inside of chicks wink.gif. Well its now possible, technology at its finest, this company called Kaya invented the see through lens, it also shows you how it works on a separate section. Basically they tested with a mannequin they placed a printed card behind the cloth and with the KAYA PF4 they could see it through the cloth. OMG. Awesome. Period.

Here's the link so you can check it out and long live innovation:

Here's the how it works section:

is that real. it seems a totally ligit website and all, but how can you be sure that it isnt a scam. it doesnt seam possible.

if it is real and atually works and people find out more, think how bad it will be for celebraties. the paparazi will love 'see-through clothing' and that will be so bad for people in the puplic eye. there are so many bad uses of this product. burgars looking through curtains, anything.

but i sort of still want one to play with. :D

That reminds me of what happened to John Kerry's daughter when she went to the Cannes Film Festival in France.

She was walking on the red carpet and she had on a black dress and apparently it wasn't very thick. You couldn't see anything until the flashbulbs started going off. It soon became painfully obvious that she wasn't wearing a bra.

How nice of her to be showing off the twins while daddy is trying to win a Presidential Election.

Anyway,

What they have isn't true see-thru, but actually relection of infrared light. You couldn't look directly through their lens and see anything yourself. You would have to have a device that would create a visible picture, since humans can't see infrared.

I read about this a few days ago. I don't know if this would work with a human body. If it does, why don't they test it on humans (just try it on someone's arm). This might only work on substances like plastic, but not on substances that are less dense, like skin.

All I can think of to say about who dreamed this up is "The only difference between men and boys is the size and complexity of all of their toys!"

Ahem, I beg to differ, not cause of an ego, but sometimes these inventions are used for good purposes. Now using them on a piece of cloth on body to prove that it works is pretty non-ethical. Advertising folks nowadays use their brains in a weird way. But i am shure that this object can have many ethical uses too.

Like szupie said, they could test it on human skin, and if that works, its going to make things easier in future in the field of medical.

I dont mean to offend, but thinking that all guys think the unclean way is kinda wrong smile.gif

Dhanesh.

You take the fun out of everything.

I don't know where I stand. But it is kind of humorous though. Gave me a nice laugh.

That is funny, but I think that if everyone had these see through sun glasses there would be dozens of protests to have this thing banned. So that takes the fun out of everything dry.gif

Of course. They can kill babies and let me kill myself by smoking, but give me a pair of ex-ray glasses and watch there be snipers on the roof of the house across the street because I am a danger to society. No fun!

Which brings us to the point of:

THe thing only works on reasonable thin clothing which is dark colored. The reason why it works on the mannequin is that it doesn't send out any infrared rays itself. The human itself does (although for just a tiny bit). This is enough to distort the picture enough to make it not usefull anymore.

MMM... now here's a great way to while away time.. smile.gif

I came across this site link which explains a lot about light, wave lengths and other optic stuff that's really easy to understand since all the writing has been done by a guy who started from scratch - understanding optics in layman's terms.

The outline of it all is that humans and animate objects (even inanimate objects that trap heat during the day like buildings) do radiate infrared energy (heat). However, for all practical purposes, capturing these bands of IR is called thermal imaging, which is electronically or chemically differentiating between hot and cold.

On the other hand, from the photography point of view, all objects (that do not absorb all IR) reflect the IR so it becomes visible through lenses that are designed to only allow such rays to pass through, or, by using special IR film (available at most photography equiptment stores) which will capture IR that is reflected off surfaces.

Now, using either means will allow capture of IR (either digitally or through film); as long as there is a source that produces IR for the object being photographed to reflect. Yes, most dark fabric that absorb colours will allow a high amount of IR to reflect back through it, making the object being reflected from, for all practical purposes, becoming partially visible to an IR capturing and imaging device. Security devices such as this one at eBay utilize IR emitting LEDs to create IR that can be detected when reflected off objects in absolute darkness.

LMAO!!! This is such BS!! i dont believe it, maybe they have special fabric or something but its definetly not something that accually works...thats just such a privacy invasion that it would never hit the market and if it did it would be unbelievable expensive and it would scare people that there are some people that have these lenses and we would all spend our lives in our houses, except for nudists who really dont care.... but i definetly wouldnt want people to be facinated at my naked body...

really...how do they plan to market this??

Well, see, scientifically, there is actually a basis for it. You see, infrared properties have been used by the military for years, to see through shrubbery and other objects, and also for night-vision. It is possible, though not perfected. When it becomes perfected, I will be the first to use it. Of course I will be wearing the ones they make that look like ordinary sunglasses just so the women will never suspect me! wink.gif Just kidding.

But seriously, it is possible. Will the Government allow it? Probably not. But to create these, all it takes is a perverted scientist, and presto!
