| | Does anybode listen about Wifi-802.11s supporting devices? I'd found that it is implemented in XO-1 and probably would be in XO-2 OLPC laptops, allowing the network to be established and router automatically set one of theem amongst the netbooks connected by this special version of 802.11 protocol
Or, it maybe doesn't have sense for ordinar laptops?

I can't find anything about it on wikipedia, looking at olpc2. Oh, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11s isn't linked as part of .11. Sounds good, a step towards mites and so on, though still mac and ip based, heavy. I'm not sure on the use of it really, lan gaming? Even then, why not .11n, probably higher throughput at the reasonable cost of some power.

What are the "mites"? Primary use of it, of mesh networking I mean, as I understand it, at least, is independence of single laptop in overall mesh, they could arrive to and depart from network, while network will continue to work without one selected access point. Compared to that 802.11n is just another quick wifi

Layered Networking
barring a networked computer from using a shared connection (6) Since I haven't had any luck with my internet connection sharing problem which i posted
previously, due to the terrible quality of service here, i've decided a second connection may be
the answer. I won't give up the cable because i also have 2 phone lines on it, plus cable tv,
but I will get a 256K DSL connection in addition to my 128K cable. The benefits of this will be that
it's double, plus i'll get the full 256K connection for myself without having to share it
with other users. (I explained previously about the 10to1 ratio used here in pakistan)....

Needing Wifi Solution
Getting around Sheet Metal (7) Ok, so here's the story: Where I live, there are two connection options. The first is Dial-Up,
which needless to say bites. The second is business-grade radio. My home, connected through Dial-Up,
is around 400 feet from my place of business, connected through the radio link. What I need to do is
connect the shop and the house within one network. Here's the problems I face: 1) Running a

and the line would have to cross a large stream. 2) The shop is totaly surou....

Poor Man's Wifi
(14) In the March issue of Popular Mechanics, there was an article about PC modding. Inside there,
they showed a pic of a homemade WiFi antenna, and gave a link to this site with instructions.
Well, yesterday at my friend's house, we made a prototype , but we need to remake it, because
we couldn't find a hosering, so we just attached the USB WiFi adapter to the sieve with wire,
and the cord is hanging down (if we had the hosering, it'd be going through a hole in the back
of the sieve). So, anybody like? Ya should, since it's cheap and a 12" could even....
