Are you talking about Unix or about Linux ?
Because an apache server is usually built-in in every standard Linux distros.
And, of course, the apache server is free, and is available for probably each Unix distro, and the sources are available if you don't find a server ready-made for your Unix.

So you're looking for a non Mac webserver that runs from the MacOS X terminal blink.gif

Does he mean to run a webserver on a UNIX server (remember Linux is a UNIX clone so they are hand in hand) and remote control it on his Mac?

I have a FreeBSD server and I control it using SSH on my Windows and Mac machines.

this is true too. Apache is automatically run on all Macs, just copy files to your "Sites" folder.

I think what he's saying is that he wants to run a web server on the terminal.
