How To Record Gameplay Video Using Hdmi Capable Laptop?

I have an XFX 8600 GT graphics card and Dell Studio 1415 Laptop which supports HDMI. What cable do I need to use to direct the output of my desktop to the laptop so that I can record gameplay videos without sacrificing game performance? Also, I am not sure if my graphics card supports HD output. How do I determine it?

XFX 8600 GT graphics card doesn't support HDMI. You can check your product description or this link to be sure.

If HDMI was supported you would only need the HDMI cable. HDMI consists of both audio and video, so there are no separate cables for audio and video separately.

And even if you had HDMI on your laptop, you can't record that way. Because HDMI's on laptops are only for output. So you are basically talking about connecting the HDMI output of your CPU to the HDMI output of your laptop which is not possible.

But why do you want to record on your laptop when you can do it in your desktop PC itself. There is a popular software known as FRAPS which can record your game play.

If you still want to play and record on two machines, you can use a TV tuner to take in the output of your HDMI graphics card output and record on your laptop.

Oops! I just checked now, there are no external (/internal) TV tuners supporting HDMI inputs. May be you should upgrade your PC so that you can play games as well record it without any game performance issues.

If you meant external screenwise, only one computer and its cpus/gpus do the processings for all screens. It seems laptops don't have input of this kind.

How To Record Gameplay Video Using Hdmi Capable Laptop?

I'm looking for a capture card that can record in HDMI, and one that can capture Xbox 360 gameplay. I have a capture card already, but it only captures in standard AVI. Just the red, yellow, and white. So I'm sacrificing a lot of quality that can make my recording a lot more dull and not as clear as recording in HDMI. 

But I can't find anything that's like that. Any help? Something like a Dazzle, or a Pinnacle Movie Box but with an HDMI slot? If you can find one or answer this, then much thanks is given.

    hello all.....haven a odd issue with a laptop.......the laptop will not power up unless the ac
    adapter is plugged in....the battery is new and once the laptop is runnin xp shows thats the battery
    is charged...currently 92%. Now i can unplug the ac adapter and the system will run under battery
    power for some time(1 hour +) but if i power the laptop down and try to power it back up it will
    power up for 3 or 4 secs then go dead.then i have to use the ac adapter once again. I"m thinkin

    Hi All, I have a Acer Aspire 3003WLC for about a year now. Not a bad, simple laptop, but i have been
    having power problems recently. I have had to have the laptop repaired once already because the
    sound had stopped working and since I have got it back there has been problems with the power. When

    I will be building a new computer soon and want to know if the motherboard really decides if Vista
    will work on my machine or not. I'm looking at a Intel 945GCLL Intel Socket 775 MicroATX
    Motherboard and from what I found, it only will support Vista Basic Edition. I have read that
    it's better to get Premium over the Basic Edition and I will probably do so in a few more months
    when Vista is out for a while (probably with lots of patches released by then). Will Premium Edition
    work if I install it? I don't see how the motherboard can be a really big issue here....

    I currently have a PS3 that is outputting using HDMI. The HDMI is converted to DVI-D and connected
    to a Dell 20 inch flat panel. This works nicely, except that I can do a maximum resolution of 780p,
    and I would like to do 1080p. So I am thinking about upgrading my monitor, and I was thinking, why
    not go for a 30 inch monitor? But the 30 inch monitor requires DVI-D Dual Link. I was wondering if

    (you've read it correctly, if u dun believe ur eyes, read it again.) However, something strange

    OK, having major LCD issues on my laptop today. I have one of these no name brand (actually called
    Prostar) laptop that I bought a few years back. It's served me well and only giving problems

    I have a HP Pavilion laptop. I bought it about 2-3 years ago. I try to plug in the charger end to
    my laptop and it does not start charging. I can take the back off of it, plug the charger in, and
