Painting 3d Models - halp

I have maya and I'm ok at modeling, but painting the models is still beyond me. I tried using deep paint 3d but I can't figure out how to use it. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternative programs or any deep paint 3d tutorials or recourses?

i m not sure but usually you uvmap models or unless you need to do something else,
don't quote me on this becuase i am not a great moddeler

Lately I have enjoyed painting with the Flash-based Graffiti application on Facebook. Sometimes I
think it is fun to see what I can do with the restrictions of a simple little paint program. The
only real special feature that the application has is the ability to adjust the opacity of your
