i think i too will make not completely but atleast be part of some program
i will begain and i will say
my os will install in 10 min he will be soo easy and soo fast i will but in it ie 6 and windowsmedia 10 and realplayer 10 gold and i will make it open source for all and easy to all people to use it and change what they love and hate and i will make it like linux and easy like microsof i thinx it 'll bad idea
lol.. dude, nice thoughts but if it was so easy we'd have as many OS-es in the market as there are text editing tools
My OS will be completely GUI-less... It will be fast secure and only be usuable by true elite people
QUOTE My OS will be completely GUI-less... It will be fast secure and only be usuable by true elite people openBSD without X11 then For starters, I have always been annoyed with the way Windows copies (using explorer) a folder, and during it's copy it comes to a file that cannot be copied. Instead of leaving it till later or ignoring it and continuing with the rest of the files left to be copied, it stops where it got up to and the only thing you can possibly do is either figure out how to make it copy this file, whether it's protected somehow, being used by the system and is locked out or just cancelling it and then trying to copy the same folder and ignore that file, in which case you could again encounter another file that can't be copied. Another would be after you've done this type of copy and it's stopped due to a file, is a NO TO ALL button when you re-attempt to copy that folder over again, you've got a YES TO ALL to overwrite this file with this one, but not a NO TO ALL, this would be a time saver compared to holding the N key down so it repeatedly selects NO to not overwrite, or saying YES TO ALL so it overwrites the same copied files you just copied and have to redo thanks to the sudden roadblock MS put up. Another would be asked to replace a folder, and if you say NO, asked if you would want to copy the files/folders inside that folder you said no to, and insert them into the folder instead without replacing it, and this would be asked with same subfolders too, if the same ones existed. There's more, but if I do this, I'll give out too many ideas I've got planned for the future. Cheers, MC
Things i dislike about gentoo.......
i dont dis-like anything... it will be nice when porthole is finished, but there's nothing to dis-like.. for me anyways.
Well, I would say something like this:
10 print "goodbye microsoft" 20 goto 10 That would work for me. Especially if that's all it did. It would never crash, and I would be happy. But seriously, I like the graphical interface of the linux theme for windows xp, so that would be cool, but without all the crashing 24/7 I just want reliability and compatability in an os
Ironic how you are using Basic; a language that was used by Bill Gates that helped him become the rich guy he is today
Oh, and by the way, that would really suck as an OS A feature of my Ideal OS would be one that would be able to play games without having my monitor blank out, forcing me to reboot. I need a new graphics card...
It is a hard work to write a new os and the drivers together with it. But I think it is more difficult to devise a new os with enough feature usefull. If I have enough knowledge about os devising someday,I will select a specific and interesting new feature as my target to begin.
Just return to school then found that my credits expired ... Never mind,I will begin again. Long time no see ,friends Latest Entries

we have linux and mac, but the problem is, most of the people only consider easyness of OS, that's why winblows user still in the 1st position..
i'm just curious, if all linux distro becomes only 2 or 3, maybe we could improve linux much better than now.. I really want Google to start developing an OS!! Well, it doesn't have to be Google I guess...but I just really want someone to start removing Microsofts stranglehold.
It's all good and well discussing alternatives but I do not think I am alone in saying there is very little choice in terms of OS.

Microsoft have said that their next OS will not ship with Internet Explorer in Europe because of the EU Competition Commissions decision that it was unfair to other developers.
simpler than others. it just need to have these abilities :
1) one explorer for everything (file, internet, ftp, sftp, etc) 2) better system resource usage (no memory leak etc) 3) customizable & configurable & tweakable easily 4) less security hole and the most important is : 5) has AI inside it ;p
Ok im dreaming to much but My OS would be...
The Fastest OS Ever seen ... Very good performance on games Automatic update of drivers and If dont have drivers detect the hardware and download them Low in space Appearance like windows vista ... but FAST not Slow lol Well im dreaming to much as i sayd llol |
