This is really hilarious, of course if it would be shown to some people who knows the difference between Linux and Windows, he might have laughed. I totally agree that for the past years, Linux or lets say KDE tried to look like Windows to make Windows users use it easier when switching OSes and Windows seems to take good features from Linux and Mac ans also is getting similar to Linux, I talked about this some time ago somewhere, in some way I hate it.

Haha, nice one . It just shows you how less people know about computers, even tough they are using them daily. I must admit KDE4 looks very nice, but I've never been a fan of over-fancy-dancy looking user interfaces, I prefer the small, lightweight windows 2k look and feel (I even use the Gnome Redmond user interface atm ).

Even though KDE4 looks nice for you it's not yet ready to be used normally.. Well maybe some people are using it, but I personally tried installing and using it with OpenSUSE, but moved back after several days to KDE 3.5 which is stable and better in my opinion. I hate some stuff there, if KDE will continue with such chosen path, Gnome might become my preferred desktop environment. Even though I'm not such a Linux user as I used to be years ago, now it's studies, job and most of the stuff usually is on Windows, because of time lack I can't enjoy Linux to much

Shame.. people should work harder on getting x11 onto windows and the managers like that. It's giving Windows a good first impression by lying Got x11 on mac, gonna look for kde/xfce for it now Tough to beat Aqua.

That was a great video. I would like to know if they told the people that it was KDE and what their response was.

Just like Darasen, i too wonder if the truth was told off camera. It would have been nice to see their reaction after being told it's not Windows 7 but KDE4. KDE4 has been coming a long way since its initial release, although i've been using it mostly since KDE4.1—where it actually became something usable for a development environment. Now i use it as my main desktop environment, especially since Nvidia fixed a lot of problems with their Linux drivers, making KDE4 more bearable with users with Nvidia cards.

Microsoft Silverlight Technology
A new addition to the Windows Live family (3) Microsoft has released a new development platform (I think it is) called Microsoft SilverLight. It
is supposed to bring rich, interactive, streaming media into a cross-browser, cross-platform

get this running on Firefox as well as Internet Explorer. They are adding support for "major,
leading browsers" quickly and efficiently when possible. Macintosh users (for Mac OS X) can also
download this application which is under 2MB in size. You can download SilverLight 1.0 Beta ....

Linux Needs Windows To Run!
Dugg it up on Digg (12) This is just absolutely L-O-L comedy right here. This is the classic ignorance and computing. Ok, to
sum up this loser, he thinks that Linux runs on Windows and so does Mac OS X and OS/2 failed because
of Microsoft. Here's one of my favorite paragraphs in one of the earlier posts of this guy:
QUOTE Linux may seem like a good alternative to Office, but all that is happening in linux is that
the windows interface is cleverly hidden away. It still needs the drivers and software services in
order to run, and in most cases - that happens WITHOUT a valid windows licenc....
Gartner: Vista To Be Last Major Windows Release
Era of monolithic deployments is ending, research firm says (4) QUOTE December 14, 2006 (Reuters) -- Research firm Gartner Inc. predicts that Windows Vista
will be the last big release of Microsoft Corp.'s Windows operating system. The era of
monolithic deployments of software releases is nearing an end, and Microsoft will participate in the
trend toward more flexible updates, Gartner said in a list of forecasts for 2007. Gartner also
expects that the blogging trend will peak in the first half of 2007. Given the average life span of

patent violations. Uh, excuse me? Patent violations? It's open source an....

Windows Vista Too Strict?

design class today when I overheard about the restrictions and cons about Vista. I know it
didn't come out yet so that's why I am not sure if this is correct. One of the guys said
that Microsoft is making Vista more strict than the previous versions. He said that if one was to
practice copyright infridgement for music or videos and whatnot then the information would then be
sent to microsoft and to the authorities and let them do what they have to do. The other guy s....

Pen Drive Ram On Windows Vista
Features on Windows Vista (13) I recently viewed the homepage of Windows Vista on Microsoft's site. It says that Windows
Vista can use a pen drive (USB 2.0) as additional RAM to speed up the memory. My question
is that we use RAM because the hard disk is SLOW. We do have a swap file, but we don't use it
much because it slows down performance! So, how can it be that the USB Pen drive be as fast as the
RAM? Its max. speed is just 153.3kbps So won't that be slow too? How can that act as additional
RAM? Is Microsoft trying to fool innocent buyers? This is outrageous! -O....
