FrontPage

Firstly, I do not use FrontPage, I just installed it to take the screenshots and then make this

want to warn you as well. While FrontPage may seem nice, it creates horrible code, sluggish pages
and well, it's M$ LOL. For full control without having to know all the code, you can try NVU,
1st Page 2000 or google for HTML Editors. Fire up FrontPage (I can NOT believe I am typing this).....

I know that the gods of webdesigning revere dreamweaver as the best wysiwyg editor, but till now
i've been using fp. when i heard dreamweaver was nice and tried it out - it freaked me out for
the first time. agreed, it's powerful, but macromedia could've made the interface more
simpler, like they have in photoshop. so out of your personal experience, which do you feel is the
best? i'd go for fp....

Its been awhile since I updated my webpage through front page (maybe 6 months). Since then a lot
has changed on my system; a new computer and firewall. I tried to do a synchronize through
FrontPage for the past week and I keep getting timeout errors. I’m just checking to see if there is
a particular port FrontPage needs or if this functionality has been disabled on Astahost....

I was just approved an Astahost account with the starter package. I explored the Cpanel a bit
and have got the following problems : 1.Frontpage Extensions The Cpanel states that the
Frontpage Extensions have been installed. But when I uploaded my site on frontpage at
"ftp://ftp.mysitename.astahost.com/public_html/" it stated an error that Fronpage Extensions are not
installed on this server! When I opened my site online, I can see the page, but I cannot see any
graphics/images! Also, my forms and other stuff isn't working either. Please help me out and let
me...

Frontpage is a lot like FTP, but it's also a totally different animal. I'm suggesting to add
frontpage as a new forum in the hosted member area. Then all frontpage stuff can go into that forum.

Since I can't find a topic you created on this issue I'm creating it for you. Using the
shoutbox for help is kind of useless because we don't remember to go back and make sure it
worked. So anytime a problem is only shouted it's impossible for us to know if it fixed. Create
posts when you have problems, that way multiple admins / moderators cann look into the problem. I
know we started this in shout the other day, but I have no way of knowing the outcome of this. I
checked topics started by Killer008r but didn't find any that is reflecting this. Wha...

What program do you use to make websites? I used to use notepad and HTML unitl I bought Frontpage
and I don't know why more people use Notepad. They say it is more flexible when you can do the
same thing with Frontpage AND MORE. Frontpage has a Notepad sort of window also so you can choose to
do HTML code or work like how you work other MS softwares. I personally love Frontpage. I wish I
could get the 2003 edition though......

Hi, i try to update my website with frontpage, since yesterday i get a server time out error

If you like the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) features of Microsoft Frontpage but don't
like paying the $160+ dollars for the software, then try: AOLPress It's a old HTML editor
that has turned into abandonware. Despite it's age it still has all the features you really
need. You can edit HTML in both WYSIWYG and raw format. It's a very small download, so it
won't hurt to give it a try....

I ur using frontpage to make your site(Like me) then you might prefer to use its inbuilt FTP client.
Heres how you upload your site using FP. Once ur done with your site:- 1. Click on File->Publish
Site. 2. In the window's upper right corner there is an option called "Remote WEbsite
Properties". Click on it 3. In the new window select FTP option. 4. Set the address to
ftp."yoursubdomainhere".astahost.com replacing the Quotes. 5. Set directory to "public_html" 6. Your
username and password will be the same for the cPanel. 7. The left panel is your local files within ...
