Hi,
Two things.
First of ally, you posted this topic in the "Free Web Hosting » Computers & Tech » How-To's and Tutorials" forum.
Please remember the Tutorials Specifications, as listed on top of each page of this forum, mainly the rule Number 1 :
QUOTE
1. The Tutorials have to be of a bare minimum length of 500 words to be accepted.

Your topic is far below this 500 words threshold. That's why I moved it here.
Secondly, your trick works only on jailbroken Iphones. So, when you give newbies such tips, you should tell them, first that jailbreking iphones is forbidden, secondly that the Iphone will stop working imediately after connecting to I-Tunes and that, if they forgot making a backup they simply have to go to applestore and ask for repairing a pirated Iphone.
By the way, I did not notice in your text the fact that each "paid Apps in Iphone" has to be paid... rolleyes.gif

That's why I moved it out the tutorial section. Maybe this could be useful for newbies who don't know how dangerous cracking i-phones is, as well as rather complicated.

The use of Cydia is not technically legal, plus you would need to jailbreak your iPod Touch / iPhone in order to use the application to download more applications. Jailbreaking is effectively piracy if applications are downloaded without being paid for.

Sorry 'yordan', but you aren't correct. By the sounds of it, you are speaking on a subject of which you have no experience. I have jailbroken every single ipod touch and iphone I have had, and they still continue to function normally. ITunes syncs still work fine, because iTunes doesnt realise that the device has been jailbroken. It still adds media to the device, and backs it up as normal. Also, a simple restore in iTunes removes the jailbreak data hassle free.

Jailbreaking iphones/ ipod touches is forbidden by apple, but by no means illegal (at the time of writing this post).

Also, complicated? I think not. The guys who perfected the jailbreak have released a tidy program which does it all for you:

1 Download the appropriate jailbreak program (google is your friend).

2 Plug in your ipod touch / iphone and do what it says.

3 It jailbreaks your device in about 10 mins. No computer knowledge required.

However,  the method described by 'jaize' is illegal if downloading paid apps, as this is piracy. BUT jailbreaking itself must be distinguished from Installous.

Jailbreaking means unlocking the device so that it can be used more freely and the user can modify themes, and install apps which were censored by apple. This is not piracy in itself as the programs are distributed by the authors. Installous, which is an app (legal by itself) which allows the user to illegaly download apps which should be paid for. Therefore jailbreaking is NOT piracy, but Installous IS.

I hope this message is helpful

When you buy an Iphone, or another apple product, you sign a contract. If you carefully read this contract, you will see that you accept apple regulations, and you acknowledge that it is forbidden to modify the device in order to install non-apple apps, or in order to install pirated softwares.
Be sure that there is no legal problam, apple rules are also the legal rules in any country where apple sells it's devices.

did you not read what "(G)" wrote? the apps are a part of apple, they were just censored. If you knew how to read then you would understand.

Precisely, if an app is censored by apple, it's illegal to use it, no matter the way you do it.

but if you create your own app then you can put it on and they can not do anything. another thing which you could do is just get the free apps saves alot of money and is not illegal. hits two birds with one stone knocking them out of the tree into a lawnmower. that is the if something is illegal the general idea is dont do it (unless you have a loophole to use)

Did I Sign A Contract??
How To Get Free Paid Apps In Iphone/ipod Touch

When you buy an iPhone on a discounted plan you sign a contract with your carrier not with apple! I have a few ipod touches and phones all of which were bought outright for full price, now did I sign a contract with apple? I think not I own it I can do what I want to it. Now if you want to talk about all this legal stuff you can do whatever you like if you own it they just will not support you if you have issues. If you lease a car you can not change the rims , tint the windows or put in that great stereo you always wanted. But hey we know you all do this and technically that is breaking the law if you want to be technical because you do not own the car untill the last payment is made and you buy it outright and if you read the contract all of this is illegal!

Seriously, jailbreaking, as said by (G) is not actually illegal and what not.

The Reason most of these apps on a jailbroken ipod, etc, (excluding apps That are meant to be paid for) are put on there because apple Themselves are technically breaking the law. Of what I know, you have To pay to host your apps and stuff like that, and apple have all these Rules and regulations.

Take a look at when you go into a mobile Store, apple say to the store owner, "right, if you want to sell our Product which is the highest fone on demand, you must sell it for this Much no negotiation, you must sell it in these cases made by apple, Which you must pay nearly 3 grand for, it must have this amount of Advertising in your shop, we must have exactly this much of every Contract, and we will allocate a certain amount of phones each Fortnight, you cant bulk bill, etc, etc."

This is breaking the consumer trade laws. They are literally trying to control everything.
Don't get me wrong though, I love apple products, but the way they do things is crap.

Jailbreaking an iPhone isn't that dangerous, you just have to be careful that you don't download viruses or whatnot. The above "tutorial" is nice, since it took me a while to find out how to add sources and how to get to the jailbreak apps. Thanks

Actually, Yordan has a strong point. Why would Apple censor such apps if those apps are do not defy Apple's license?
