I think we all know AstaHost is the best yet. "Free Professional Web Hosting" Is a really good thing to hear.

although i have never used any of these hosts ill vote with astahost as there forums are great to post on and great help is provided by all the members and staff, keep up the good job guys

Out of this list, I have only used Geocities and AtSpace.
Well Geocities is terrible. I dont recommend anyone to go for that service.
Tons of Ads and yet a very slow service.

Atspace is quite good, infact very good, as they provide u Hosting without any Ads, and yet they have fast Servers. However, the service is getting slower day by day, due to the excessive user registrations.
The only Drawaback is that they do not support any kind of Scripting as PHP or CGI nor do they provide any Databases.

So, finally AstaHost.

If I call it bad, than Moderators might remove me ....

Anywayz, since this is my first Posts, so I am still earning Credits, and I have not yet tried AstaHost ...
so NO COMMENTS smile.gif

After I have tried the service, than I will come back again and post the actual review .....

So for the time being .... The best host is AtSpace

Haha, but yea personally I've tried Free, geo, 50, and asta... and I completely hated everything about the other 3. They had insane downtimes, horrible ftp quality, horrendous ads, horrible everything. Personally asta is only the second free hosting solution I didn't hate, and the first was pretty much a carbon copy of asta (similar post for ad free host type thing) but due to some legal issues and the subsequent lack of funds they went under. Thus asta stands alone in my mind as quality free web hosting.

I havn't tried any of the above webhosts but i think astahost is probably the best because it has no ads and it doesn't seem to have proplems with their servers and stuff. Scince I joined it hasnt been down or anything

I have tried many, and I never landed on something as great as Astahost.com

They not only provide a great Pro Package, but have a truly wonderful credit system!!!!

The best hosting that i have had apart from Astahost, were, Aboho, Aushost. i was using Aboho Free account (no posts required) but it was only 5 mb and 500 mb b/w. Then I bought a domain, so went for aushost instead, which gives free hosting to domain owners. It gives 50mb and 500mb b/w. It's only good if you have a homepage, not a portal.
No host provided enough features to host a portal, except :-) Astahost.

I bet whoever comes to Astahost once, won't leave it... also, the Forum is a great place to socialize.

@John, i don;t think you're right on that last line. Besides post2host is not everyone's cup of tea. Some members are still on dialup and have limited connectivity. For them astahost and trap17 may not help at all. So in their case they can use the other hosts. Some hosts simply hosts without anything in return. I know such host don't stand for long term. But in any case such hosts do help few people. x10hosting,hostcolor,novahost etc. are good hosts providing free hosting without anything in return. I don't know how long will they remain in business and how much they have downtime. But in any case, they're helping a lot to many members who can't post2host. Let's not generalize and call crazy to people based on their decision of choosing free hosts.

Pretty easy answer.... Trap17/Astahost are my favorite free web hosts. I've been with you guys more then 3 years and never really had any issues in terms of downtime. I have come and gone and tried paid hosts and realized that the free service you guys offer here is just as good if not better then any of the paid hosts that I went to. Turst me on this, I went to so many differnent hosts trying to find something else. I think I had the belief that free hosts would be somehting more thne what theyreally are. They are just the same as the free service you would get here the only differnec e is there you have to pay their monthly an dyearly feee while here ar trap17 and astahost you only have to post for the hosting account and in addition to that you can also get free other sevrices like domains, ect. so overall the best free web host I have ever been with has to be trap17 and astahost and if you guy think otherwies, then yeah you are crazy tongue.gif

    Well astahost has been great, so I decided that I would move on to computing host. Well, after going
    through, having the payment come through paypal....my account doesn't exist on computinghosts
    site...so now I paid for hosting but haven't gotten any.... I am somewhat dissappointed by

    Hello everyone i just came from MANY hosting sites, and a decent one I found was freecoolsite.com.
    It has very nice easy to use interface with the features of PHP and mySQL, and even phpMyAdmin to
    manage the mysql database. But I found it has its bad points: 1) Has ADS
    2) My rollover buttons doesnt function when it functions at 5 other host sites
    3) When you are using "iframe" the frame used has a ad inside and messes up
    ur html webpage design, cause the frame is messed up... ....

    It started good, there was only a small banner on top, very small, but after a while they suddenly
    added the google ads. The server is also limited. I couldn't get the mail function working (nor
