| | Hi, I've seen alot of these and Sorry for putting up another one. I've been pretty interested in creating a Browser based text game and have seen all of the MC Codes Etc. But Looking through all the topics I haven't yet found how to start making one. The one think I've ALWAYS had trouble with is setting up a database for users and I'm guessing this has to be done first. Does anyone have a steb guide through the first stages or is anyone interested in creating it with me. Cheers in advance. Matt. |

Matt, the first thing you have to do is getting some paper and start designing your game. You first have to know what you want before you can create your database and write the codes. eg. - players: username, email, password, health, deaths, level, weapons, ...
- game: min. 10 levels, a level consists out of ...
- opponents: strength, health, at wich levels they appear, ...
- ....
First you have to think about the game itself, it has no use to start writing and creating things without you know what you are creating, you'll only loose a lot of time because you'll have to change and re-create things you've done and need to be changed. This is also worth a reading

Get yourself the MCCodes. Edit the PHP codes. Host it and you get your own MMPOG. But my problem is, i cannot find the best free webhost. Already try lot of it. My last option is using astahost and see if it work with MCCODES

Browser Game Specific Non N00b Question
(17) Right me and my mate have begun planning to make a browser game (omg yes another guy wanting to do
it). I know php, java, ajax, html, vb, C++ etc to a certain level like amateur. but thats not the

Making A Php Based Online Game
Would anybody like to help (3) I, along with several others, am making an online game called Galactic Rifts (at the moment). It is
a sci-fi text or graphical based game set in the future where you have to conquer other players and

Advice About Making A Text Based Game
(9) I got my Astahost account in hopes of making a multi-player, online, text-based game in real time.
What I need help with is the programming side of things, a little advice really. I talk to the
maker of a similar type game that I play, and he suggested I learn PHP with MySQL and ASP, and I

I Want To Create A PHP Text Based Web Game
(8) I am new to programming and although HTML and it's similar forms I already know, I would like to
learn PHP but I have no clue where to start. I have been playing this game online for over a year

What Language Should I Use For My Game?

I've found something that you may like.. (9) I know something good that I've been using for ages. It's called Game Editor and it's a
Game Making program that uses a point-and-click interface and optional C-style scripting to make
simple platformers, action games, etc. It is also very well supported and has many tutorials, so you

What games have you made? (11) Hey all! I was wondering what kinds of games you all have made or are working on right now.
I'm also interested in what languages/software you used to make them. The most recent game
I've made is Cannon Wars. It is a 3-D artillery game, similar to Scorched 3D . You control
the angle and power of your gun and try to blow the other players up. After a lot of work I was
able to add network support so you can play with people over a LAN. It also has a primitive Ai so
that you can play against computer players. I wrote it in C++ and used Directx for the graph....
Z80 Assembly
programming games for the Ti-83+ (1) Most highschool kids and some college have a TI-83(+) for math, so some of you may be interested in
this. Basically, there are 2 languages for the Ti-83+. Basic and z80 assembly. Basic is easier, but
asm is alot faster and more powerful. *note* With z80 assembly, you can make some realy awesome
calculator games. Actually, z80 assembly is almost identical to the language used to program the
