I don't like IE, firefox Is my choice
Cheers for the update Derek, im about to check if my site is but it seems its still gona be a while before its integrated or updated by programs such as Macromedia Dreamweaver, which will chech it for me.
I think i'll just wait till the beta comes out... I need it to test my webpages... It should be alright. I dunno now but I hope it's gonna be alright. I didn't understand the article on how to prepare. I hope my scripting really isn't as bad as they're saying
Thanks for the information. I've been wondering when they would release a new version of IE, but so far, I'm not that big of a fan of tabbed browsing. Maybe this will change it but again, thanks for keeping us updated.
I couldn't care less about Internet Explorer 7, Firefox will always be better in my opinion.
Will this new version be standards compliant? QUOTE (saxsux @ Jul 19 2005, 02:26 AM) I couldn't care less about Internet Explorer 7, Firefox will always be better in my opinion. Ok, so it does have some cool features, tabbed browsing, RSS integration and the CSS2 support. I honestly cant say that I will switch over to IE7 from Firefox. I will still have IE7 on my computer for compatibility testing. (The more browsers you have for testing code, the better)
All things aside, it will be good if IE7 makes an improvement on IE6. Most (good) web designers write their code to comply with the standards of the w3c and so using Firefox (in my opinion) is still the safest bet. By the way, thanks for the information!
We'll see, I guess. It's not a problem. Those guys at Microsoft have to do something. I don't think I'm going to switch to Firefox. Ie7 might be better (yeah right). But Ie works fine for me now and untill the difference gets extremely large, I won't switch.

The difference is already extremely large, Firefox is sooo much better then IE and will most likely always will be, its that simple: Step 1) Lose IE Step 2) Get Firefox Step 3) Live life easier
after reading the articals on IE7 I don't understand how to check the UA, so I'll just have to wait, or do the unthinkable and drag myself outta my chair, stop reading about how to code PHP (teaching myself that) close out my GW game, shut down TS and get some sleep then tackle the articals again...lol
Oh I started using Firefox the other day, and WOW the differance is truly amazing...its a definet boost over IE6 and worth the switch. Latest Entries
I don't like IE, firefox Is my choice
I use Firefox 3 for my main web browsing and feed reading and Google Chrome for quick web browsing when I don't want to reload saved tabs in Firefox.
Internet Explorer 8 is a major step forward with its better compatibility with CSS without the need for quirks mode, but unfornately sites have created CSS stylesheets specifically for older versions for Internet Explorer and cause pages to be displayed abnormally without the use of Compatibility Mode. By the way, interesting how this topic which is 3-4 years old got revived.
We should be worrying about IE8, but at least it has "Compatibility mode".
I still use Firefox for web development (Firebug, etc) and Google Chrome for my regular browsing. I occasionally use IE8 to play games, and Opera and Safari are on my computer to test web sites in. IE8 shows much improvement in features, standards support and overall interface.
So true plot there is no way i think that internet explorer will be able to come back from this battle because all they are doing is playing the catch up game and being second means you will always be secound....as soon as internet explorer 7 is out for proper use im sure firefox will be onto the next best thing from tabbed browsing whatever that may be, leaving microsoft to catch up again and again
wasnt thier a topic on this already?? oh well yes internet explorer has taken a huge leap and has finnally caught up with everyone, with less security holes faster browsing and page tabs and phishing filter, its finnally pulled up just behind opera, but can they still gain all the people they lost to firefox??
